Following local council approval, a new British Indian Army Memorial will be erected in Glasgow, Scotland,to honor the millions of Indian troops who gave their lives fighting alongside the British throughout the twoWorld Wars. Recently, Glasgow City Council approved the planning proposal subject to limitations, clearing the way for the memorial’s final designs to be created next to Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum. The Colorful Heritage multimedia project, whichhonors the history of Scotland’s South Asian community, is in charge of the memorial initiative, which aims to create Scotland’s first permanent memorial wall to honor the service and sacrifice of more than 4 million British Indian Army troops.

The Reserve Bank of India's sophisticated supervisory management system is known as Daksh (RBI). The RBI has stated that the payments fraud reporting module would be moved to Daksh on January 1, 2023. The change is intended to improve reporting, increase efficiency, and automate the payments fraud monitoring process. In addition to the existing bulk upload facility to report payment frauds, Daksh provides additionalfunctionalities, viz. maker-checker facility, online screen-based reporting, option for requesting additional information, facility to issue alerts/advisories, generation of dashboards and reports, etc.

Suryakumar Yadav of India has been nominated for Men's T20I Cricketer of 2022. Batters from three continents have been named to 2022 shortlist. Suryakumar Yadav had a fantastic 2022 in the shortest version of the game, becoming the second batter in the format to hit more than 1000 runs in a year. He finished the year as the leading run-scorer, with 1164 runs scored at a crazy strike rate of 187.43. The swashbuckling batter has been nominated along with three other players for the award. International Association of Chiefs of Police (IACP), the US-based international organization has selected the anti-drug & illicit liquor campaign ‘Nijaat’ of Chhattisgarh police for the ‘Leadership in Crime Prevention’ award in the institutional category. The prestigious IACP 2022 Award has selected the de-addiction drive ‘Nijaat’ , which was executed following the directive by chief minister Bhupesh Baghel to act tough against drug peddlers, bootleggers and check to smuggle drugs. The campaign was launched by the Chhattisgarh police under the leadership of the IPS officer Santosh Kumar Singh who pioneered the drive with intensified efforts in districts of Korea, Rajnandgaon, and presently continuing in Korba.

● Union Minister of Power and New & Renewable Energy RK Singh said a world-class Kayaking-Canoeing Academy is to be set up at Tehri in Uttarakhand. ● Speaking at the inauguration of the National Championship "Tehri Water Sports Cup" at Tehri Lake, he exclaimed, the promotion of sports is the priority of the Union Government. ● State Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami remarked this is the first time that the national-level sports competition is being organized at Tehri Lake.

● Vigilance Commissioner Praveen Kumar Srivastava has been appointed as the acting Central Vigilance Commissioner (CVC). ● His appointment comes after Suresh N. Patel completed his term as the chief of the anti-corruption watchdog Central Vigilance Commission on December 24. ● The commission is headed by a CVC and can have a maximum of two Vigilance Commissioners. ● Besides Mr. Srivastava, former Intelligence Bureau (IB) chief Arvind Kumar is the other Vigilance Commissioner.

● Nitin Manmohan, a film producer, died on December 29, 2022, in Mumbai. ● The producer was well-known for his support for films such as Bol Radha Bol, Laadla, Ready, and Bhoot. ● He began his career as a director with the movie Prithvi in 1997.
